Youth Music Ministry

**Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in person classes and gatherings are currently suspended. The FPCFW Youth Choir is meeting and making music virtually until we can be together again safely. If you’d like information on how to join us online, please contact Laura Collins.

The youth of First Presbyterian Church are integral in helping to provide music for worship and special events throughout the year. All students in 6th -12th graders are invited to participate, regardless of experience or skill. Below is the "school year" schedule.

Rehearsals: Sundays, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
The Messengers Youth Choir is for youth in 6th-12th graders. During the school year, the choir rehearses weekly and sings regularly in both the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services. The group often attends choir festivals and/or goes on choir tours. The Messengers reaches out to the community singing for various groups and incorporates times for fellowship together. This choir is under the direction of Music Associate, Laura Collins, 817.335.1231, ext. 238.

Rehearses Sundays, 6 - 6:45 p.m., September thru May.
6th- 8th graders of all skill levels are invited to come ring handbells with this group.  No experience is necessary, although if you play an instrument in school, then you will very quickly become a leader in handbells! This ensemble provides music for Sunday worship and special services several times throughout the year. An emphasis is placed on team building, leadership skills, sharpening music reading skills, and having fun with music.  For more information, contact Music Associate Rebecca Sawyer, 817.335.1231, ext. 253.

Rehearses Sundays, 4:40 - 5:15 p.m.
The group follows a shortened rehearsal calendar to accommodate busy schedules, meeting for 6-8 weeks in the Fall and again in the Spring.  This choir will prepare music for 9 or 11 a.m. services 2-3 times each year.  To sign up, please contact Music Associate, Rebecca Sawyer, 817.335.1231, ext. 253.

Please note that all adult volunteers who participate in our children's ministries are trained on FPC's Abuse Prevention System.
