Community Crossroads is First Presbyterian Church's mission outreach center in Fort Worth's near South neighborhood. Located at 1516 Hemphill (near the corner of Allen), the building houses Worship on Wednesdays (WOW), the church's First HAND Food and Clothing ministry, Formula and Diapers (FAD) ministry, the Salt & Light Dental Clinic, the Listening Post, and English as a Second Language.

  • Distribute groceries on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. NOTE: You may only participate in one distribution, either receive a sack lunch OR receive groceries.
  • Distribution of FAD (Formula and Diapers) and groceries every Monday from 9-11 a.m.
  • Serve a hot "to go" meal on Wednesday nights from 6-6:30 p.m. WOW! (Worship on Wednesdays) offers a brief devotion and singing for all ages from 5:30-6 p.m.

Helping our neighbors through First HAND (Hospitality, Advocacy, Nurture, and Dignity)
First HAND provides two food options for our neighbors to choose from: receive groceries twice per month or receive a sack lunch every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Our neighbors may participate in one of the two options each month to meet their individual needs, as well as to continue to participate in other area food programs in addition to First HAND.

Grocery Distribution:
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (Each Wednesday and Thursday)

Sack Lunch Distribution
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday)
Volunteers must complete a Civil Rights Training, and if working with hospitality, must complete a Food Handler training.
To participate, our neighbors must complete a household application for food one time per year.

We are currently not receiving clothing donations or distributing clothing at this time. Watch for the reopening of the new and improved clothing ministry soon!

Community Crossroads location (1516 Hemphill Street)
WOW! (Worship on Wednesdays) offers a brief devotion and singing for all ages each Wednesday from 5:30-6 p.m., followed by a hot to-go dinner from 6-6:30 p.m.

WOW! (Worship on Wednesdays!) is a 1001 New Worshipping Community of the PCUSA that offers worship, a free shared community meal, and Bible classes for all ages. If you have questions about how to become involved with WOW! —shepherding classes, teaching classes, helping with worship, playing in the WOW! worship band, etc. — contact WOW! Coordinator Leah Wyckoff, 817.335.1231. If you are interested in helping with WOW! meals (preparation or serving), click here

Listening Post:
This ministry occurs anytime First HAND or WOW are operating. Volunteers are available to listen to our neighbors who simply want to share a joy, a concern, and/or to pray together.

This ministry provides free dental services for people experiencing homelessness. Services are offered several times per month by referral only. Appointments are made by case managers working with clients in area agencies. Local dentists along with their staff team up with volunteers to offer much needed dental care for adults. The clinic operates up to three times a month. For more information, please contact Community Crossroads Director, Dori Al Hammami. 817.921.3955

English as a Second Language class meets on Wednesdays from 9 - 10:30 a.m. Childcare is available for children 3-years-old and younger.

Mondays, 9-11 a.m. (grocery distribution is also available during this time)
Mothers and children in need can visit Community Crossroads on the third Monday of each month for free formula and diapers. Donations of powdered formula (Similac Advance Stage 1 Formula) and diapers of all sizes are always welcome and needed to keep this ministry going. To participate in this program, please, bring a birth certificate the first time you participate for each child 3-years-old and younger. For formula, please bring your WIC card. (Note: FAD is closed on some Federal Holidays, please call ahead for schedule changes).
