FIRST HAND FOOD

Helping our neighbors through First HAND (Hospitality, Advocacy, Nurture, and Dignity)
First HAND provides two food options for our neighbors to choose from: receive two bags of groceries twice per month or receive a sack lunch every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Our neighbors may participate in one of the two options each month to meet their individual needs, as well as to continue to participate in other area food programs in addition to First HAND.

Grocery Distribution:
12 - 1:30 p.m. (Each Wednesday and Thursday)

Sack Lunch Distribution
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday)
Volunteers must complete a Civil Rights Training, and if working with hospitality, must complete a Food Handler training.
To participate, our neighbors must complete a household application for food one time per year.

FIRST HAND CLOTHING

Our neighbors may request clothing up to four times per year by completing a clothing request form available at Community Crossroads. Any agency may submit a clothing request by fax at 817.921.3535. Clothing orders will be filled within one week.

If you have questions about how to become involved with WOW! —shepherding classes, teaching classes, helping with worship, playing in the WOW! worship band, etc. — contact WOW! Coordinator Leah Wyckoff, 817.335.1231. If you are interested in helping with WOW! meals (preparation or serving), contact Deneice Allen

WOW Shepherds and Teachers:
The Worship on Wednesday (WOW!) community seeks adults to serve as shepherds for the children's class (Kindergarten-4th grade) on Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. We are also looking for teachers for children and youth for the 2020-2021 year. For more information or to volunteer, contact Leah Wyckoff.

Listening Post:
This ministry occurs anytime First HAND or WOW are operating. Volunteers are available to listen to our neighbors who simply want to share a joy, a concern, and/or to pray together.

SALT AND LIGHT DENTAL CLINIC

Due to Covid-19, the Dental Clinic is suspended through 2020. This ministry provides free dental services for people experiencing homelessness. Services are offered several times per month by appointment only. Appointments are made by case managers working with clients in area agencies. Local dentists along with their staff team up with volunteers to offer much needed dental care for adults. The clinic operates about up to three times a month. For more information, please contact Community Crossroads Director, Dori Al Hammami. 817.921.3955
