Senior Adults Ministry

First Presbyterian Church is dedicated to providing opportunities for senior adults to engage in fellowship, study, and service together as well as being cared for during times of need.

FPC takes special care to keep in touch and meet the needs of our homebound members. Our Parish Visitors, Jennifer Pettey and Jennifer Regen, visit with members who are homebound due to illness or mobility challenges to provide a chance to stay connected and feel both nurtured and valued as part of the FPC community.

For over twenty-five years, FPC has engaged its senior adults through the Beacons ministry. The group welcomes adults 55 years and older to participate in meetings and events that aim to enrich the lives of mature Christians through fellowship, education and service.

Beacons' Birthday Bash (currently suspended due to Covid-19)
3rd Thursday of each month, 1 p.m., Local Restaurant
A “Birthday Bash” is held monthly on the third Thursday to honor our senior members with birthdays that month. Beacons lunch together at a different restaurant in the Metroplex and often tour a nearby site of interest. They are active volunteers in Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, the Presbyterian Night Shelter as well as in many other church and community projects. Such opportunities are announced in the church newsletter. Transportation is available for those who desire it.
