With great joy and in confirmation of how the PNC and Karl have felt God's hands guiding our process from the beginning, First Presbyterian Church, in the May 6th Congregational Meeting, voted to have Karl Travis serve as Pastor, Head of Staff. This journey of faith is an amazing example of God's timing and providence. Thanks be to God.

Karl has been serving as Pastor, Head of Staff at Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church in Grosse Ile, Michigan, for the past seven years. Prior to that call, Karl was Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Roswell, New Mexico for eight years.

Joining Karl is his delightful family. He and his wife Rebecca have three children: Audrey, 14, Madelene, 12, and Ian, 5. Rebecca grew up in a Presbyterian minister's family, having lived in the mission field in Chile, and Mexico, until her family returned to the US when she was nine.

Karl is a fourth generation Presbyterian pastor, and a native Texan. He grew up in the west Texas community of Tulia. Karl and Rebecca have extended family throughout Texas and New Mexico, and they are eager to return to their roots. Karl graduated Magna Cum Laude from Trinity University in San Antonio, studied at San Francisco Theological Seminary, and was awarded an Honours B.D. from The University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Karl is a gifted preacher, and delights in fellowship with people of all ages. He is noted in our denomination for his work with 'generations' studies and with stewardship. Committed to our denomination, Karl has served at every level of the larger church, and currently on special task forces for his synod and the General Assembly.
