Elementary Music and Arts Camp
Each summer, the Children’s Music Ministry of First Presbyterian presents its noted Music and Arts Camp for all children who have completed Kindergarten through fifth grades. This outstanding program is a week of incredible music experiences for both the novice and experienced musician. Each day, all campers have classes in handbells or tone chimes, vocal choir, drama, art, recreation, and Orff. The fourth and fifth grade campers also choose an elective class of guitar, drumming, or art masterclass. Campers begin each day at 9 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m. Two snacks are provided each day and on Friday a pizza party for lunch. On Friday evening, everyone is invited to join us for our closing concert and musical. It is your opportunity to discover how much your child has learned in their week at camp.

Our program will include hands on learning every day. Our campers will learn to play chimes, percussion instruments, and the Orff instruments. Everyone will find out how fun singing in a choir can be. Art exploration will uncover the hidden artists in each of our children. Camp will begin each day at 9:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. All of our campers will receive a camp T-shirt and enjoy a mid-morning snack each day. God's Plan for Growing Up

This class seeks to help parents educate their children about human sexuality. Using the curriculum Amazing Stuff: God’s Plan for Growing Up, we have developed a 4 week class for children in 4th and 5th grade. Throughout the class we provide ways for parents to partner with us in this process. This curriculum is published by the Presbyterian Church U.S.A.

Sacraments Workshop

Offered in the fall, this workshop helps prepare children and their parents for the sacrament of Communion and teach them about baptism. Parents attend this workshop with their children and receive developmentally appropriate teaching regarding Communion and baptism, as well as practical hands on preparation.
