First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth
Music
Adults
are invited to join the music ensembles at First Presbyterian Church. The
Chancel Choir consists of a combination of volunteer singers and paid section
leaders. Most members are good music readers and adapt quickly to new music.
Literature from plainchant to contemporary compositions is prepared for the
10:55 service each week. Singers are lifted spiritually by diligent rehearsal
as they prepare to serve the congregation in their worship and praise of God.
Rehearsals for Chancel Choir are Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. (Robert August, Organist and Choir Director)
The Fellowship Choir consists of volunteer singers who participate in the 9:00
service three times a month. All music reading levels are welcome. (Karen
Thompson and Michael Waschevski,
Co-Directors) Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.
The Grace Notes Adult Handbell Choir welcomes ringers of ranging levels.
The Grace Notes ring for several services of worship throughout the year.
Directed by Karen Thompson, this ensemble rehearses Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.
Instrumental Music Ministry
First Presbyterian has a rich history of outstanding musical talent and diversity. Members of our church family enhance the worship of our congregation through their love of music and their unique musical gifts. The instrumentation in worship is as varied as our talents. If you love classical music you may want to join our Woodwind Quintet or Flute Ensemble. If your style is more contemporary or gospel then the Strings of Faith are waiting for you. Whatever your talents or abilities are, we have a place for you in our ministry. Join us for an unbelievable opportunity of fulfillment and fellowship. Contact Susan LaPointe in the church office to add your talents to ours.
